My young fella (7) is always banging away on anything resembling a drum, would like to get him a kit. So was looking on adverts and there are kits around 100. Would these be too big for him, is there a better option for kids?
Would a digital set be as good? If this is the right thing to buy, is there any make better than others at this level?
Thanks for all help, I am completely new to music really

A digital set has the advantage of being able to bung on a set of headphones and he can bash away to his heart's delight.

    an acoustic kit is LOUD!!!!!

it also takes up a mad amount of space.

the disadvantage of an electric kit is that its easy to play loud, and use the volume control to quieten down, then when you get behind an acoustic kit, suddenly you are playing like you're in Iron Maiden and you CAN'T play softly......

but for a 7 year old?

    I'd go electric!

Yep go electric, it'll either sit idol after a week or two, therefore you could always sell it on. Or he'll realise how cool drums are and how every other instruments sucks in comparison.
