How do I go about setting up a letterbox?

There is no postbox/letterbox for my apartment block. The landlord says she can't/won't install a system as I am the only one in the block currently.

I'm not receiving any post to the address at present.

What would be the cheapest way to set one up. Any of the heavy, wrought iron boxes that are fixed to the wall are very expensive. I need a quick and cheap alternative.

    Any ideas?

You can get one here for €55.35 http://www.letterboxes.ie/-budget-letter-boxes

Thank for that but even €55 is out of reach for me. I don't even know what I'm looking for to be honest, I've never lived anywhere without a letterbox before.

I would imagine you are entitled to a letterbox. I'd check that out and in necessary get back onto your landlord.

They are expensive but they have to be quite strong as thieves will take anything nowadays including your identity and that they can get from your mail like your ESB or Gas bill, I would suggest a PO box or MailMinder but they are not cheep. Do you have any family or friends that you can really trust and have your mail sent to them.
