Depending on circumstances, you may be entitled to Rent Allowance and a Medical Card. Your maternity medical costs are free, as best I know. If you have dependants, you may also be entitled to Family Income Supplement.

Is your employer willing to pay you something?

As well as getting maternity benefit you'll also get childrens allowance from the month after the born which is currently 130 a month.
If you are married to the baby's father then you can transfer over your remaining tax credits to him so that his take home pay is greater.
Don't know about FIS or rent supplement

Hi. No my employer does not pay anything. I will not have any income support from the father either.

The child is entitled to this if you want to go chasing it.

If you will be parenting alone after the baby is born you may get an increase for a dependent for the baby on your maternity benefit.

Also if things are really bad you can go back to work before the 6 months are up, but you will not get paid the remainder of your benefit.

When baby is born you can apply for one parent family payment
