Student assistance fund-laptop?

    Hi all, I am filling out the SAF form. One of the categories you can claim under is "class materials", I am wondering if this covers laptops. I need a laptop for college so I can complete assignments .

    Any info/advice on filling out the form would be great.

    Buy it and send in the receipt. it will help your case. Will they cover your laptop? Not really is the answer I find they just give a pretty set sum to anyone who qualifies.

    As far as I know it's there for things like art supplies or building materials where you're told by the college you specifically need set things for certain classes.

    I bought a HP 6930p for my final year in college and it's been flawless pretty much ever since. I bought Windows 8 when it was released for about €30, and fixed a missing rubber foot but apart from that it's taken a lot of abuse being thrown around in my bag all year and it's been great.
