Illness benefit partner and CE scheme

    Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have looked at welfare.ie and citizens advice but am not finding the answer I'm looking for.

Basically my partner is on illness benefit, claiming for me as qualified adult and a child too. We are getting 342 per week.

I'm just wondering if I was to take a place on a CE scheme would I get full rate payment or still the same as now.

We also receive rent allowance and am wondering if that would be changed because of all this.

    Thanks in advance

You have to be in receipt of a Jobseeker's payment for 12 months in order to qualify for CE

The adult dependant rate and child dependant rate of illness benefit is means tested. Once you start a ce scheme or any type of employment you partners needs to notify illness benefit of your earnings e.g. send on payslips so her payment can be adjusted if needed.
