    Hi All ,

Quick question , I'm filling out an rf 150 here but I can't find the log book to get the vehicle registration certificate number off of it . I have the vin and reg , will the tax office accept it without the vehicle reg cert. number? Also I filled out an rf100 for declaration of non use signed by myself and the gatdai, do I hand this into the tax office with the rf150?

Last minute as usual with me.

Bring both RF forms with you to tax office. They might not need the cert if the car's details are on their system, i.e. if it shows up on cartell etc, it should be on the motor tax database. Get to the tax office tomorrow even without the cert.

Popped it in the 'Motor tax letters' box in the council so let's see if they have a problem with that

Massive queues last Friday, so it will probably the same Monday, but any thing post marked the 30th will be accepted if posted.

I'll post it so and register it to be sure. Thanks.
Edit going to town anyways so I'll drop it in the motor tax letters box, I'd say the queues are mostly people taxing their cars after a period of non use.

I'm declaring a car off road that's been in storage for 5 years.
I don't remember the last time it was taxed, where can I find this out (other than tax office)..

Also can I post both the RF100 and RF 150 rather than going into the tax office in person?

    http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/drivers-to-get-some-leeway-in-new-tax-regime-296
MOTORISTS have been told they will be given limited leeway as a new regime begins on 'off the road' motor tax claims.

The Department of the Environment says it will deal "pragmatically" with drivers amid a chronic backlog in processing paperwork. :P:P:P

The new system requires drivers to declare in advance if they wish to avoid road tax because their vehicle is not in use or is not being driven on a public highway.

Owners have scrambled to submit forms to their local motor tax offices to avoid being penalised for back tax because of the revised guidelines.

This has led to huge numbers going to local authority offices around the country in recent days. :P:P

However, despite a call from the Irish Farmers Association for an extension of the deadline, a department spokesman told the Irish Independent that, for legal reasons, the new system would have to go ahead from tomorrow.

A helpful guard at the station was able to look up the last time the vehicles I was declaring were last taxed and in the case of one when it was registered after importation as it has never been taxed,

    You can post.
