Built a new computer today and started it up. First thing that noticed was that the brand new keyboard I had wasn't working. The Mouse was fine so I assumed the keyboard was just broken and got another one and this one worked so I installed windows and updated bios / drivers for my motherboard. Then i surfed the web a bit everything was good until i shut it down to go out. When i restarted the computer things seemed normal, then i noticed the keyboard wasnt working and the mouse was fine.
There is also another problem that whenever I plug my mouse into the USB ports on the front the PC appears to shut down but the power LED is just flashing dimly

    Specs:
    RAM: 8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz
    Processor: AMD FX-6300
    Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme4
    PSU: Corsair Builder Serie CX500 V3 Non-Modular 80+ Bronze, 500 Watt
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT Boost
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB
1st Keyboard: Microsoft Comfort Curve 3000
    2nd Keyboard: Advent Wired Connection

Any help is much appreciated :D

Have you installed the latest mobo drivers from the Asrock website?

The front usb ports issue sounds weird.?It almost sounds like a short.Double check the connection from it to mobo.

Yeah I installed all the mobo drivers and all of the connections have been triple checked.

Check in the bios that the usb ports are all enabled.

    Device manager showing any issues?

Try using just usb 2.0 ports to rule usb 3.0 and visa versa.
