Meranom have given a preview of new models on their facebook page.

Gone are the childish/comical dials and the quirky bezels. These are remakes/re-interpretations of glorious past models ...something to look forward to:

Nice. I always loved the amphibia solution to waterproofing. They didn't just copy the rolex oyster method like nearly everyone else, but went their own way.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Yep, that's nice, no nonsense, like it.

2nd one is nice, clean dial

The third has an air of Omega proplof look about it

Depending on the case model the diameters are between 39 - 43 mm

Take a look at the Amphibia spare parts pages on Meranom's website ...they have measured drawings of all case types there

    EDIT:

Case type comparison (with pics) here : http://forums.watchuseek.com/f10/amphibian-case-s-comparison-pic-heavy-860725.html

The 100 series special edition has arrived:

Perfect dial, no lumps or bumps, well saturated matte black background, crisp print, lovely new hand set

    276609.JPG

    Nice backside
Made in Tschistopol Russia by special order

comparison with the other current 100 model

And while I'm no fan of Nato straps (too much loopage and bucklage going on) this one is of such good quality that it'll be allowed to stay

btw ...all hands, indices and numerals have lume ! Not great lume ...but they do glow a bit ...so does the lume dot or chevron at 12

slight change of plan ...swapped straps with the 110 radio room.

The 100 now is perfect, having lost all the annoying hardware and the 110 finally agrees to sitting on my wrist.

P could you give direct links to the two models you chose? Is the wife's watch an actual l ladies watch or just a small dialed mans watch? Both look fantastic. What is this company like to deal with?

    100 model: http://www.meranom.com/amphibian-se/100se

    420 model: http://www.meranom.com/amphibian-se/420se

The 420 isn't an actual ladies watch, but with 39 mm diameter and 18 mm lugs it fits a lady's wrist better than any of the other models.

Meranom is easy to deal with ...you just order, pay and wait. He ships within a few days and the Russian post then takes about 3 weeks to get it here.

The only problem with these models at the moment is that they are very sought after. They only become available sporadically in small batches and are immediately sold out again.

If you really want one it's probably best to open an account and put the watches on your "notify when available" list.

Time to revive this thread :D

The models above were special editions commissioned by Meranom, now the Vostok factory themselves have taken the hint and revived some of their classic dials:

    my favourite:

and there also is a new desgin for the "Dude"

currently available on Meranom http://www.meranom.com/ for USD 73.66 ...but should filter through to all the other usual suspects in time

Would love to see the "reef" relaunched or a new edition.

Loved this black one but was sold out at a reasonable price very quickly a couple of years ago.
