    Using bahn.com.

Think there is a train station in FRA and I can use the airport code as a station.

    Is this correct?

If not, any ideas on what station I'd book a ticket from?

What sort of time would I need from arrival time to reach train station assuming I have ticket bought online?

The airport code for Frankfurt Hahn is HHN, you are using the code FRA which is not near Hahn. Don't now anything about the German rail network bt would be very surprised if Hahn airport had its own rail link. Maybe a link from a nearby village/town though.

Derp, musta read it wrong on a trip advisor entry.

Trying to figure what town/village and what sort of travel time is involved

Nearest train station is in a place called Traben-Tarbach and you're looking at about 5 hours of a train trip to Nurembourg

yea don't mind the travel time; friend would be working so have time to kill.

would there be shuttle buses or something to train stations?

Honestly I don't know, it's 17km so maybe a taxi could be an option

You could just get the shuttle bus from hahn to Frankfurt train station and get the train from there.

Last time I checked a few years ago there used to be a shuttle from Hahn airport to Frankfurt airport that also stops at Frankfurt station

    Check the Hahn website

You can actually look up the full journey on the bahn.de website - it carries details for busses as well as trains.

Use Flughafen Frankfurt-Hahn, Hahn (Hunsrück) as your starting destination (do NOT use the main airpot, that's not Hahn!). Seems to take abotu 4.5 to 5 houtrs and will cost about 50-60 euro one way.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

The buses from Hahn airport to Frankfurt train station leave in front of the terminal building. They go via Frankfurt Int Airport. It takes 1hr 45 min and cost 14 Euro per adult kids 8 Euro

Trains from Frankfurt to Nuremberg take 2 hours (ICE) and cost 53 Euro pp

Have you booked flight already OP as there's a nearer Ryanair airport to Nuremberg if you havent booked already try flying into Memmingen (Munich West) its a shorter journey from Hann or you could fly into Stansted with Ryanair and then fly to Nuremberg with them

yup, memmingen to Nürnberg isnt all that far and you can do it for cheap on a Bayern Ticket which is a day ticket for all regional trains (i.e. not the swish high speed ones!) and the Ubahn/ busses in Nürnberg and Munich.
Its 22euro for the first person and then add 4per extra person to a max of 5 travelling.
You just then need to get to memmingen station which is a €3fare on the quite irregular bus or something like a tenner for the 4.5km journey by taxi

Went to Rock im Park in June and flew into Frankfurt Hahn. Got bus from outside the airport to Frankfurt Main (2hrs) - and from there got a train to Nurnberg. For the bus, come out of the terminal and turn left - there is a kiosk on your left where you can buy tickets - busses seem to have gone every hour or so.

Train ticket, we bought online before we arrived from www.bahn.de
Frankfurt(Main)Hbf to Nürnberg Hbf and it took 2hrs 15mins ish.
