Really would like to know the best full make up coverage on the market,i have tried maybelline matte mousse, they have full coverage which is not the problem but they have only very orangey or brownish tones and im not orange or brown:eek:

Really sick of trying to look for full coverage that is for fair skin i am a blonde, well dark blonde, and i have had my fill of looking for the right skin tone and full coverage with it.

It seems to be a big ask in stores like boots, all they try to fob off on you is their no.7 range, which is all very well but liquid foundations don't really give good coverage they seem to melt into your skin and give a transparent look which is not what i am after.

Have any of you ladies come across a really good foundation that gives 100% coverage, and has a realistic range of colours for pale irish skin?

I use estee lauder double wear and find it brilliant, good coverage and I'm very pale too, their shades are perfect for Irish skin! Its about 35 euro so expensive enough but I wouldn't go back to number 7.

Yeah i tried no.7 stuff and the liquid foundation eventhough i dont really use it,i decided to buy it on the sales assistants advice in boots, and it was the biggest mistake ever, the liquid foundation itself was watery and the look was translucent, not what i was after, and she said that the coverage could be achieved by layering it,i was fobbed off with a big lie too.It wasn't giving any coverage at all after layering it!

I will never trust a sales assistant again, all they are there for is fobbing stuff off on you no matter what, even if it doesnt suit you!

No 7 are so overrated, they did that colour match thing on me and made me orange, never again!

Another vote here for Double Wear, the best coverage I've found by far.

    +1 for DoubleWear.

Up until a few years ago, I found it near impossible to find a foundation to match my pale skin.

I WAS using Maybelline 16 Hour Stay in Ivory, which is apparently their palest shade, but it was orange on my skin.

Then I explained my problem to an Estee Lauder assistant in Boots and she recommended Estee Lauder DoubleWear.
She applied two shades to the back of my hands and said Shell was the perfect match for me.

She even gave me a free 10ml sample to take home and try.
I went home thinking that I probably couldn't justify spending €35 on myself, but when I tried it, I was gobsmacked.

The colour was PERFECT for my complexion, it just went on so smoothly and blended in effortlessly.
    I was so amazed.

I went back the next day, bought a full bottle and have never looked back since.
"Shell" is back on shelves now after it was temporarily discontinued for a few months.

OP, ask for a colour test at the Estee Lauder counter and for a free sample bottle to try at home.

Imma say double wear too. I'm another Shell wearer and I get terribly excited when I find a shade actually the right colour for me. Illamasqua are also wicked for pale girls.

Thanks for all the well informed replies i will have to go out and get myself some of that estee lauder double wear(35 may be pricey) but i will give it a go as long as it is the right shade no price is too low.

Im trying essence mousse make up(pennys) in shade matte ivory which is the right shade,it gives full coverage, but it comes up patchy thats the only problem i have with it.

I will definately be going into the estee lauder counter on monday. And i will have to look up Illmasqua.

DoubleWear won't budge. In fact the only way it'll come off is by using a make-up wipe or make-up remover.

The problems I had in the past was after eating/drinking, there'd be a white ring around my mouth, but DoubleWear stays put.
Definitely get a sample anyway and see what you think.

The sample for double wear is great, it lasted me about 2 weeks. Definitely get it to try if you want to be certain that it works for you.

    a.

35 seems pricey but the quality is so good its definitely worth it. They do give the ten day sample too, I save mine for weekends away ;-)

Like a poster above, the sample can last you a good while.
I got two weeks out of the little bottle and I was wearing make-up every day.

€35 is going to seem pricey if you're usually a high-street foundation wearer, i.e Maybelline etc but because you don't need half as much DoubleWear, it'll last you longer, so you'll be saving money.
Just remember, if you do go for it, don't apply too much as this stuff goes a long way.

Double wear is good, vichy Dermablend has a bit better coverage though - but it is quite heavy makeup.

My shopping list for monday is a sample of Illmasqua, vichy dermablend and estee lauder double wear..

Will have to see,as i have a lot of make ups right now,i will chuck them in the charity shop, you never know the make ups i have might be what someone is looking for..

I have no.7 liquid make up(wrong colour and gives no coverage too watery) ,essence mousse matte make up(perfect colour but patchy in places) and stargazer pan stick(which is deathly pale),max factor pan stick(which is too orangey)..

I have had no luck so far,so thanks for all your suggestions girls really this was a great help!!!:)

I'm extremely pale and also find double wear brilliant. I use it as my "night time" makeup, as I find it too heavy for during the day, as I don't like too much makeup on at work.

Another I used which was as good was Mac 'studio fix', that stuff covered EVERYTHING. I have freckles, and you wouldn't have been one through the stuff.

Also If you go into the likes of Debenhams/House of Fraser and get colour tested, generally they will give you a sample that will last you a few weeks so you can get a feel for the makeup :-)
