God dam tractor tax!

    old tractor owned 2 years , seller told me he lost the book but i think he just wanted to keep it as it was still in tax at the time, small money no receipts of any kind , all i have is the tractor and reg number , what should i do i can get friend to fill out forms for me but im overseas so i cant make contact with the guy i got it from also 2 other tractors i have a few years no proof of purchace just registration numbers should i bother with them or chance filling in forms of some type and stick them in the post monday is the last day i believe . any help welcome:)

    forgot to say i dont remember the names of any of the sellers, i tempted to just forget about it but i might regret it later

    You need to hand in the forms in person, 1 form signed by Garda to say it was off road and the other to declare it off road up to a year. Even if you could post Monday is too late.

    thanks for all the helpfull replies, my friend that offered to help knows nothing about tax and tractors so what do i need to request them to do for me , 3 tractors 3 numbers no books previous owners unknown , no proof of purchase , also a danger one of them might have kept the book and used it or sold it to someone else, i want to be able explain to my friend whats needed keeping it as simple as possible ,

    Maybe, the garda that stamped my form said it needs to be handed in person even though I can't see the difference in posting as the woman behind the counter just took the form and posted out a receipt.

    Postal applications remitted before the closing date and received after it will be monitored
    For those who cannot locate a registration book, arrangements are in place to enable the form to be processed in the absence of those details on the application form. There is no need to apply for a replacement registration book by close of business on Monday.
