Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this. have a tractor bought from uk last year. have tax book but no receipt or invoice. Do I need this to get it VRT inspection so it can be taxed. Also what about end of September deadline. Was away so could do nothing about it till now. Assume you can import your tractor at any time. any help appreciated.

What documents do I need when registering a used vehicle?

Maybe you could write out a purchase docket yourself with all the purchase details and see if this would work.

I doubt you could book a VRT inspection for tomorrow or Monday at this stage. It's the NCT that arrange this.

You don't have to drive your tractor there, they will accept photos.

Apparently you just need to get an "at least partially" completed form into the tax office (or at least posted by Monday).

You can get the VRT done later it seems.
Minister Hogan said “anybody whose application to declare a vehicle off the road is received in a motor tax office by close of business on Monday, either by post or submitted in person, will be deemed to have complied with the deadline in the legislation, even if the form is in some respect incomplete or incorrectly completed. Applicants will be contacted over the next few weeks to rectify the forms. Postal applications remitted before the closing date and received after it will be monitored”

There is no need to apply for a replacement registration book by close of business on Monday.

Aren't you covered by this bit from the belated press release?

For vehicles that are not registered, the owners should contact the Revenue Commissioners to have the vehicle registered. Again, motor tax will not be sought for the period prior to the registration of the vehicle.

Thanks for all the info. Rang Vrt and got some info, For what it is worth they said you have to bring the tractor to the centre. They will not accept photos.

    Thanks again to all

not being smart with you, but technically if you drive it to the center your breaking the law, would need a truck. do these guys making the rules have any idea of reality? and would the person behind the counter know one end of a tractor from the other anyway?
