Came off the bike five weeks ago doing the SK tour of Waterford and broke my wrist pretty badly,I've had a plate and some screws put in there but cast is already off and I'm hoping to get back on the bike as soon as possible.
So I was wondering if anyone on here has had a similar injury or knows how long I should wait

First up - ask the doctors.

I broke mine in my late thirties. Had to get it pinned back together but no plate. It took six weeks to get pins out and my arm wasn't much use before three months. I wasn't cycling much at the time but I'd say I'd have needed the three months before doing much on a bike.

But - ask the professionals. They'll know best

Sorry for your pain. I broke my two wrists together in a motorcycle accident 10 years ago. Both plated and pinned now. I had my casts for 9 weeks and was off work for 5 months. I know everyone is different. But would definitely not rush back onto the bike too soon. Be careful. I know they are a bloody sore dose.
