have installed extra electrical equipment in the dairy and its putting my power supply under pressure during milking/cooling ... 65 amp fuses are not upto the job and electrician says 80 amp would not give a whole lot of spare capacity with dwelling houses on same line also... he mentioned ct metering as an option .. anyone get this in lately?

I was I. A simillar position to you 2 years ago and eventually put in 3 phase.mobey very well spent.can run everything in the place at same time and not as much as a flicker out of flights.the difference in cost was about 1500 euro over over ct metering.got a grant also and three phase was only a 2 pole span across the fields

How did you get the grant
Have applied for 3 phase recently

We had problem with power before, constantly blowing the main fuse, Esb lad eventually got fed up and put in a bigger main fuse hasn't been an issue since

3 phase over a mile away ...costs?? ..never costed it .. was told ct was giving 100 amps.. so expect this to be plenty with non essentials timed away from milking time

Cost me about 5 k including upgrade to main fuse board alterations ,laying of ducting ,meter box.i now have my own transformer and 50 kva connection which can be increased if needs be.to bring it a mile I couldn't hazard a guess ,ring esb and they'll let u know .
