    Hi folks,
    I'm looking to get a few more decoys and was wondering about gender?
    Should I have mor hens or drakes?
    I prob get another 5 or so

    the more of each you have the better. i find i get better results when i throw out a couple a teal decoys with the mallard .

    the more decoys you have out the better,they come in. make it as reallife as you can.

    buy hens, these are of more use in september when the drake mallard are in eclipse plumage.

    Personally I'd buy hens. Calls are all to mimic a hen mallard 99% of the time so a hen decoy matched with a hen call will draw mallard in.

    i normally keep the teal in a tight group to one side of the pond with the mallard having the rest they would be in seperate groups .
