ford 5610 pick-up hitch

    Over the years the cable that releases the pick up hitch on my 5610 has become slack and wont release the catch fully. is there a way to tighten it?

    take it off and add in a nut over the cable wher ie is secured. this lenghtens the lenght of the cable cover essentially shortign teh cable

    either, by the handle is proably easiest
