Mk 3 Mondeo ST 2.2 Tdci Steering rack.

Hi, Have been told today I need a new steering rack for my mk 3 mondeo, can anyone confirm that there is or is not a difference between the 2.2 diesel ST steering rack and the standard mondeo one, Ford quoted €980 to do it, what are your thoughts or comments on a reconditioned or used one and where to source one, especially if the ST one is different to the regular ones. Any other words of wisdom welcome too, Thanks.

I had to replace the rack in my focus and I was told doesn't matter any focus of the years 99 to 2005 mk 1 would do engine doesn't matter. Got one in scrappies for 75. Imagine standard Mondeo rack prob be ok.

Same here, my '04 TDCi Focus needed a steering rack a few years ago and got one from a '01 Focus for 80 yoyos.

Pm me the reg of your car and ill find out for you but as far as im aware they are all the same.

Thing is it´s not a normal mondeo tdci, it´s an ST tdci, 2.2 155BHP, but thanks for input.
