Moving to Rosan Glas on Sunday never lived out westside before.

Noticed there's a green bus stop sign 30 seconds from the house and a little further down the road there a proper bus shelter stop.

Wondering how often the buses will come to the university in the mornings? and evenings. noticed there's a bus lane nearly the whole way in so thinking I may do this instead of driving, especially as its impossible to find a parking space in nuig.

You could even walk or bike it from there.
The 411 should be the bus you need though, maybe 412?

bus 411 is the only bus that goes beside rosan glas and goes to eyre square via shantalla. bus 405 leaves b & q and goes to eyre square by nuig :)

You could sit on a bike and roll almost all the into NUIG from there without having to pedal.

As well as Bus Eireann, there's City Direct and between them you'll get something very close by, especially if you can manage a five minute walk.

Ok so theres bus eireann buses and city direct buses.

411 is city direct. this is the route on the website BALLYMONEEN, CLYBAUN RD., RAHOON, SHANTALLA, HENRY ST., DOMINICK ST.

so Rahoon is the stop beside me.

also the timetable just says DEPART BALLYMONEEN and seems to go about every half hour eg 8.15 8.45... so what time would I need to be at the bus stop to get to the university for 9? definitely just walk sometimes aswel if the weathers ok..

    Cheers guys..

Hey mgk2004, I live in that area and work in the university so have to bus similarly. The 411 goes from that stop that you were talking about outside Rosan Glas no earlier than 5 to the hour and 25 past the hour, and normally bang on the hour and half hour. The closest it takes you to the college itself is at the back of the hospital on Shantalla road.

If you're gonna be doing that regularly though, you'd probably be better off walking down to the big bus stop down on the Bishop O'Donnell road and catching the 412 at half past and on the hour, which will drop you outside the college. You can flash your student card on that you see, and only have to pay €1.20 rather than the €2 for the 411. The 405 goes the same route from that stop on the hour, twenty past the hour, and twenty to the hour. Though it's €1.80 for a single, it's like €3.80 for a day saver ticket, so I use that if I need to take more than two buses in a day.

    Welcome to the area :)

Edit: Bike is defo handy, especially for fine days. But this is Galway, so expect a LOT of rain :p
