I am 41 years old, full nc etc etc
Was interested in a 92 mx5 for the weekend (have a main car).
Can't find anyone who will insure it!!

Axa, fbd need a classic to be over 25 years old, while many others such as first ireland simply wont insure any jap brand car as classic.

    any other options?

To be fair its probably not that they wont do it because its a jap brand. Its probably a jap import is it? Which is the problem. If it was an Irish one you would stand a chance.

No, its not that it is a grey import, it's the fact that it is either a mazda, toyota, honda, or nissan. just off the phone from first ireland, and carole nash said the same...

    Try Campion http://www.campionins.com/contact-us
Found them very nice to deal with and reasonable for my Eunos (93)

Given that you have a second car and the MX5 is over 20 years the Campion charge to insure this will be about €200 pa.

Should be happy days. Let us know how you get on.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
