    Hello all,

Adverts.ie are looking to tweak their sub categories for Computers and figured the best thing to do was go straight to the every day users of this section of Adverts and ask for their help on making sure they are displaying the most relevant and busiest categories as subs.

Both Richard and I will be keeping an eye on this thread and is looking for any and all suggestions that will help in their decision making process. This is an opportunity to suggest new sub categories, merge existing ones and so on. We'll let this thread run for a few days so Richard can get some answers from as many of you as possible, he may be in and posting on the thread if there's anything he'd like to clarify I'd say.

It'd also be great if you have any general Adverts.ie related feedback you'd like to share.

    Thanks for your time folks.

Would be handy to have a sub category for cooling, i.e water/air.

A PC Gaming section would be good, no need to break it down into separate genres...just PC Gaming.

In all honesty I'd keep it pretty wide, narrow forums make for inactive forums.

I'd go something like PCs General, Laptops, Servers (or some name for the serious side) Macs (not that they're proper computers :P). Can't decide if the PC gamers section is a good idea or not, there's already a good games section on boards.

ya pc gaming category would be great. We could use it for not just games per say but maybe someone has trouble getting a certain game going, somthing along those lines

I'm not sure if this is within the scope of what you're considering, but I wouldn't mind a buy/sell/trade section here, for computer hardware/software. Adverts is great (and it's where I sell 95% of my tech) but it can be a downright hassle sometimes.

If something was set up here, it would be within a smaller community, of more knowledgeable people, knowing what everything is worth, and what a good price is, not someone seeing a €400 asking price, and offering €250 just 'cause.

I'm thinking something like separate forum, thread per transaction, adverts link required, carried through comments here, but offers placed on Adverts. That way we get to interact with the more appropriate people here, but Adverts doesn't lose any traffic.

I'd also like to voice my approval for a cooling section. I think it could be encorperated quite nicely into existing Overclocking/Moddiong forum. Cooling, Overclocking, and Modding. Anyone investing in water usually knows their way around a computer anyway, so odds are they'd be interesting in OCing as well.

Yea PC gaming forum for problems and game discussion all in one, no point in breaking it up.

I guess it would be handy to read the OP

I am technically blind, so I'm playing that card here. ;)

I actually quite like the Adverts categories as-is. I think the only thing that could do with updating is the laptop and PC specs choices. They're a bit out-dated.
