Note that there is already a thread on what changes people suggest should be made.

    Samd as before.

    - Raise levies & consumption taxes to retain the vague promise of no raise in income taxes.

    - Again no change in income tax bands.... Inflation making all workers poorer for yet another year.

    - No change in headline welfare payements.
however to make savings more restrictions on new welfare claimants.

    - Pensioners & their votes insulated as always.

    - All capital expenditure announcements will be re-announcements of already promised spending.... Just with lengthened time lines....
The media will be too stupid or not care enouh to point it out.

I wager my mortgage all the above will happen.

More tax on cigarettes even tough they know it doesn't prevent smoking :)

Maybe another euro on a bottle of wine?

They'll do sneaky tax things like increasing disregarded amounts for tax relief. For instance, only when I went to claim tax relief on my 5K college fees did I realise that they had sneaked up the "disregarded" amount up from 1,000 to 1,250 or something. Fuuckers. Give with one hand and take it back with the other. The collede didn't fuucking disregard the first 1,250 when I was paying!

The home help visits will be cut to 30 seconds once a month (if they're not already that)

Maybe do something about tax relief on private health insurance.
