    1. Run XBMC and play all the popular video file formats over wi-fi from a NAS
    2. Play Netflix
    3. Run Android apps from the play store, particularly apps which facilitate streamed content. (Could even load the Android Netflix app??)

Was warming to the Ouya but AFAIK it doesn't support Netflix.

    Any suggestions?

    Ben

^^ 36 views and no contributions, I guess there is no Android media player which will do these things :(

Not sure about Netflix but try Mediahouse, works great for me with DNLA. Integrated with IMDB to so all the details of the films on the NAS. Great bit of software. I then use MX Player for the video as it supports more formats than the stock player on my device.

The Ouya is perfect for XBMC, no stutter even on extremely large MKV files but that's across wired ethernet, wi-fi won't be great for streaming the really big files no matter what system you use. Netflix works but not perfectly so I couldnt really reccomend it unless you have the patience for it.

Just saw a HD compatible version of Netflix on reddit but you need to keep a keyboard plugged into the ouya to stop netflix from pausing when your Ouya controller goes into sleep mode. I might give it a go tomorrow and let you know how I get on

    Thanks Jumbo,

If I could get Netflix working on the Ouya along with this app for streaming video from the internet https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sashodev.LiveStreaming I'd be a very happy bunny.

I look forward to hearing how you get on with NetFlix.
