I am just wondering if anybody could advise me about the tax i am paying. I am working part time on x and o's. Doing 20 hours over 3 days earning €173 from the job.

At the moment i am paying €2.60 PAYE and €12.11 for USC. I could be wrong but is the USC a bit high for part time work. I got charged €50 PAYE my first week but went to the tax office last Monday. Does anybody know how long it takes for the tax office to sort you out with emergency tax.

You need to get a tax credit certificate. Call into or talk to your tax office.
