What are people's opinions on these, are the reliable? Economical currently driving a golf and it's breaking my heart and bank balance with all the parts that are being replaced have seen one or two nice ones but have no knowledge what so ever of them.

You need to be a bit more specific - year, model, petrol or diesel. Vauxhalls and Opels are pretty much the same cars for the last few decades minus the different badges.
