    Hi
I'm looking for 5 days off either the first or 2nd wk of December. Supervisor says I can't as there's another coworker off both those 2 weeks.
Is there anything I can do? Isn't he supposed to organise cover not me?
Sorry for my ignorance of this situation...
    Thank you...

Not if it causes a problem for 2 employees to be off at same time,
can you ask other employee to swap?

You are entitled to leave based on the number of hours you have worked. Your employer is required to ensure you take this leave as per the terms of your contract and the relevant law. They are not required to allow you to take leave whenever you want though most do make an effort to accomadate their employees. If another member of staff is already booked off during the period you want and they are short of staff, your supervisor is absolutely entitled to deny your request.

Hi Dr. Nic! Sorry, I'm afraid that your boss is not obliged to arrange cover for when you want to take leave off; it's their right (within reason) to define when you take your leave.
