500 quid laptop. Which one to buy?

    Neither. For €500 you'll get a Core i5 processor. The PC World laptop has a 2nd generation Core i3 ULV processor. Intel HD 2500 and p*sspoor performance (CPUMark score 1675). Asking 500 yoyos is a joke. HN is selling a Fujitsu Lifebook with a new Ivy Bridge Celeron 1000M for €259. Same graphics and a good bit faster (CPUMark score 1829).

    Gone up to €299 now, it was €269 two weeks ago. You'll want some to add some more memory though.

    Again, if you want to spend €500, don't settle for anything less than a Core i5 processor.
