Okay I learned my lesson... I had a cheapie track pump and it has just broke...when I really needed it not to break, leaving me struggling with a tiny roadside emergency one which wasn't nice.

So do any learned Boardsies know of any decent brands for a replacement? What price bracket would see me get a pump that will do the job its intended for but not give up the ghost.

I bought an aluminium body one in halfords (bike hut brand) about 18 months ago. Its the champagne colored one with the gauge although i dont see it on their website anymore. I think i paid around €30 for it and have used it countless times since without any problems. Very reliable and sturdy and well worth the price i paid for it. From flat to 110psi takes around 20-30 seconds max.

I bought the bike hut one Saturday for €32 in halfords.

    Great piece of kit.
    From 60-115psi in 15s

I don't think you need to spend a packet to get something half decent. I bought an Airwave Storm for the bike shed at my workplace a while back and nobody has managed to break it yet. Seems like a surprisingly solid piece of kit for the price.

It does 0-60 in 3.5s and a standing quarter mile in 11.3s. She's some yoke to go, I tell ya!
