    Its a bit like when JJ Abrams Lost was at its peak, Hollywood big budget films must be on the table by now and the world is his oyster.

    It would be nice if he gave us one more outstanding show TV first though

    Saul wasn't Gilligans creation. One of the writer came up with Saul and will be the runner for the new show.

    Phew! Saul was hilarious but it felt like he should have been in a zany 90s sitcom, it was borderline at times

    Gilligan's not a big name, really. Maybe a bit now because the show is ending, but unlike Abrams, you can't slap his name to anything and make it fly as part of your marketing push. Cranston probably has a higher profile.

    Have to say I laughed when I read the Guardian's description:
    Battle Creek tells the story of two detectives in the Michigan town of the same name who have contrasting approaches to law enforcement – to do it by the book, or by whatever means necessary.

    First of all because it's so clichéd it's hilarious, and also because just today I was reading Alan Partridge pitch a similar idea in his autobiography for a show called Swallow. :D

    I'm guessing that description of Battle Creek is an oversimplification and it's also possible that Galligan is keeping the true storyline under wraps so as to surprise the audience when it starts to air. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.
