Just saw this online purchase only laptop on www.pcworld.ie and want to know if its worth a punt. I looked that the uk equivalent site and seems to be cheaper here when you do the price conversation.

Also couldnt find anything of similar value on SOL but I would actually loved to be proved wrong and save a bit more money

    http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/TOSHIBA-Satellite-L8501WC-156andquot-Laptop-White/315103/104.10

Bluetooth, USB 3, 8gb ram, 750gb HDD, not a graphics demon but dont need it for graphics.

    What you think?

550 for a dual core seems pretty expensive to me.

Ok, dont really know much about laptops if I am being honest. Just saw that there was bluetooth, usb3 and 8gb of ram, so not sure if it would be the right one for me given my budget of around €600

€30 more will buy you a quad Core i7 Acer laptop at SOL. Never mind the memory, that can be upgraded.

what's the deal with windows 8 trial license?

Would you need to pay another ~100 for a windows license?

Yeah, I am more inclined to agree with you on this one. I could go as far as the £499 one with the 8gb. I just want a solid laptop that will last me a couple of years, dont care about battery life or graphics, just as long as I can have a fast machine that I can get stuff done on it

I sent an email to PCWorld last night and they came back to me today and said that it was an error and thanked me for pointing it out. Went on to their website today and noted that the price was jacked up by €29.

Typical. Wonder if it would have still been at the price of €549 if I didnt email them
