Tasty (if pricey). I heard that one of the extras is a "cold reading" of the finale script with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. Tempting.

I just saw this on Amazon and ordered it as my wife's Chrimbo gift to me :pac: I've been holding off until the series finished to buy the lot and I love that package. Screw the price, after all, why should she be a cheap skate :p

    I had a thread on this ... but yeah pre-ordered ! :D:D

Sure you may as well treat yourself! Oh and that cold reading of the final episode script is talked about here, circa 3.18:

Probably just go for the normal version of the Blu-ray complete series, I want something I can sit on my Blu-Ray shelf.

Glad I preordered it , seems it's not available now ...

If the discs are the same as the normal version, then this will be missing extras compared to the US version (ie: audio commentaries on season 4/5)

hmm that's interesting might be worth ordering the US version via amazon.com as it gives u the option to pay import taxes. I want the best version of this and if I have to pay extra for the US version so be it!

And here lies another problem, if the US set is repackaged with the discs already released then seasons 1/2/3 will be locked to region A (we Europeans are region B)

There's also questions over the 2-hour documentary, will it also be on the standard Complete Season boxset or just the special Barrel set?

I've a multi-region Blu-Ray player, so not to worried, although I would hope they might release the UK version with the missing commentaries, I'll hold fire until specs are confirmed.

    Is it limited edition?

I would assume so, ie: they are making one batch.
I doubt it sold out yet though, it happens a few times with amazon pre-orders (Skyfall/Pacific Rim/Man of Steel) to name a few.

    Interesting for the extras alone.

Hmm, I have all the seasons on DVD but I want this. But it's gonna cost over €100!

Guess I'll make a pros and cons list like Walt did.

Still available on amazon.de and amazon.fr if you don't mind waiting a bit longer for delivery.

It isnt too bad, going by a price of 130 euro you could say 20-25 per season plus 5-30 for the extras. The last DVD box sets i looked at buying were game of thrones (£40) so my idea of cheap might be a bit off.

All of the episodes are on Netflix. This is a serious cash-n-grab. Not interested.

Yes but some people prefer uncut episodes, 1080p uncompressed video and audio, audio commentaries, deleted scenes, outtakes, featurette's, 2 hour behind the scenes doc, will I go on?

Yes it is a tad expensive, but what collectors item isn't?

Hey guys just wondering if you could shed some light on something.

I missed the UK pre-order so I'm thinking about getting the US version but my issue is that I wanna be sure it will play properly in my PS3. My PS3 is PAL and the discs seem to be NTSC and Region Free.

Just curious in regard to the extras in particular as I've heard that because they will most likely be in a lower quality to the show that they won't be able to be played as they are NTSC, so obviously I don't want to spend loads and have no extra's only the show.

Any info would be very much appreciated

    Shnoobies~

    ^ Breaking Bad's Blu-ray's have always been region-locked..

.. so that's unlikely to change with the "Complete Set".

Your PS3 won't play them if that's the case.

^ I was afraid of that, thanks man

As much as I like the show, 130 odd bucks is pretty steep, most, if not all of these shows will be repeated on many channels over the next few years.
All you're getting is the "extra - bonus" stuff which can often be a tad boring. Granted there might be some "once off" interesting stuff in it but I'd prefer spend the money on something a bit more entertaining etc.

That said you could spend 130 quid on a lot worse.

dont worry it will pop up again around the release date, same happened with me when i wanted to get the walking dead season 3 special edition, i was late ordering it, and it poped up again a week before it went on sale, people probably have second thoughts and cancel orders, or they managed to get more stock,

dont worry it will be available again, just keep an eye out,

    Dispatched by Amazon :D

BTW: A user over on blu-ray.com forums has confirmed that this set has the missing extras and commentaries that before were only available on the region A editions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,268 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

The Barrel is available from "Other Sellers" on Amazon.co.uk for £250 so I won't be getting it.

The complete Blu-ray collection is available but the description only lists the episodes, nothing about extras. Is there anywhere I could check what is contained in the blu-ray collection? The reviews only seem to be about the Barrel.

    arrived today, happy days :)

Mine arrived yesterday, bit disappointed with the magnets holding the discs together, one has already fallen out. For the price I'd expect a bit more. Still I suppose it's the content on the discs that's the main thing!
