    See pic.

The zips will be held together with cable ties so no hope of bursting open.

The alternative is to duct tape fins on the outside of bag

Just to confirm this will be checked in, not hand luggage

I don't see why not.... there's a scanner at a separate area before you go into the departure gates where you go with outsize luggage, it's on the back wall of T1 when you walk in the doors (don't know where it is in T2). You'd bring the big bag to the normal bag drop desk and you'll be sent to the other one.

AFAIK the only issue is with weight - if you're within the weight guidelines then it can be any shape as long as it's secure.

Looks like its easily compressible, why not get a cheap duffel bag in Tesco and fit it all into it ?

Buy a 2 euro roll of cling film and wrap it. Uncertainty gone :)

I was told by a staff member that they'll accept it on limited release, meaning they won't take responsibility for it. I think the safest thing to do is wrap the fins externally, the cling film suggestion above is excellent, thank you :D
