The last couple of mornings when im sitting in slow traffic the battery light on the dash flashes on and off for a second and the car jumps a little bit. Anyone any idea what this could be? It works perfectly afterwards and only happens for a second but my car is still in warranty so want to get it checked out.

The car is a 09 Ford Focus fwiw.

It could just be the belt slipping on the pulley but this is most lightly to happen just as you accelerate to pull away.

Post the cars make, model and year as there might be a common fault with a particular car and someone might be able to point you in the right direction:)

    Some sort of electrical fault,

More likely the belt than the alternator I would say.

Put your hand over the Alternator and have a smell to see if its getting too hot.

Also check the condition of the belt.

I was thinking with the engine on and make sure to wear lots of loose clothing ... stick your hand in there good and proper
