Anyone know courses within Dublin/Meath/Kildare Region that allow carts out during winter period (Nov-Apr'ish)? Only one I believe allows them is Castleknock. My Dad likes to get out for 9/18 holes ever few weeks, but as he's pushing 80, walking doesn't appeal now

Charlesland in Greystones does if you want a trip to South Dublin.

Roganstown is a decent bet. Then your talking about links courses with good firm ground Portmarnock links, st Anne's, the island and the like. Wouldn't be surprised if you had a bit of luck with Knightsbrook either. Hope it helps, fair dues to your old man for striking a ball at near 80!

I saw these when I was playing in the UK most courses only allow hedgehog wheels in winter. You can get these for motocaddy, powercaddy etc.
They may allow those type of wheels, no harm asking

You should see how competitive he still is, 58 years playing the game this year, it still rankles with him that he never managed to go lower than 10

For some reason I have it in my head that palmerstown house used to let people but carts needed to be kept on the paths & not on the fairways. Not sure if that's still the case?

There's still time for him, tell him to practice his short game :D

Fair dues to him though. Given the good weather we have had I would imagine he would get out on a lot of the courses with a cart during November, where the probs happen is when it starts getting frosty as you can damage the grass by walking on it not to mind driving over it.
