Have had dealings with them before, I am in no way surprised that this has happened, quiet pleased they got plenty of publicity from it though :), couldn't have happened to two nicer people.... every dog has it's day and all...

John O’Brien denied a second count of making a false report against Mr Barczak. O’Brien told gardaí he was knocked to the ground by the clamper during another incident which was fully covered by CCTV. It appeared to show O’Brien falling down without any contact between the parties.
The judge said he had absolutely no hesitation in convicting John O’Brien for making a false report against the injured party, Mr Barczak. He fined him €750 for making the false report.
Scary to think upstanding citizens would resort to this type of behaviour. Had it not been on CCTV who knows what may have been the outcome.

Had the judge been from Motors the clamper would likely himself have been convicted of assault, CCTV evidence or not.

Why is he given the chance to withdraw the allegation of assault? He took it all the way to court on lies , he should be fined for that too.

I understand people can withdraw things but the judge seems to have basically pushed him to withdraw it to save him. He should let him perjure himself .

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

You're convicted of assault causing harm (breaking a mans hand) and all you get for that is a €1,500 fine? Incredible stuff. Even if it was their first ever conviction.

There may be a civil claim hanging out there too we don't know about.

Indeed but a civil claim won't lead to a custodial sentence. Not even a suspended one :p

I knew it would be them also - the son Jonathan was caught trying to flee from the guards in a Porsche jeep a while back
Claiming he thought someone was trying to rob him - it seems there was a safe with money located in jeep ??
