    Have a 05 Astra 1.4 mk5 and engine light has been coming on and going off on its own, car was driving fine when light was on was just slighly rough on idle but last night car would not start at all.

    I got car going eventually and today got code scanned and shows P0170 only which is Fuel trim malfunction bank 1

    Can anyone tell me what the problem is related to?

    Cheers for those links lads!

    I will have a good look this evening for any vaccum leaks and hopefully pick up some carb cleaner to and clean the MAF and hopefully that sorts it out.

    If not ill be back

    Did you get the car scanned with decent diagnostic equipment??

    What county are you in?

    I'd imagine there should be one or two more codes hidden there somewhere.

    Here is a bit of info for you on code P0170.

    P0170

    you need to check the following;

    air leak

    fuel pump / fuel pressure

    injectors

    EVAP canister Purge Valve

    Lambda sensor.
