How much to pay the painter?

    Hi,
My neighbour fitted a dodgy en-suite in his apartment and caused flood damage to my sitting room wall. He has a painter coming in today to repair and paint it.

I spoke to the painter and he seems sound. I asked if possible could he put one coat of paint on the opposite wall while he's at it. I offered to pay him but he said not to worry about it, but of course I want to give him something.

So can anyone suggest what would be a fair price. It's literally just a single coat on one wall of the living room of a standard apartment sitting room.

    Thanks

How long did it take him? Around €20 an hour would be grand. If less than an hour still give him the €20.

€20 sounds fair, I'm sure he'll be happy with that..
