Hi boardsises! I was wondering about applying for medicine at UCD and I was wondering have I much of a chance? My disability is aspergers and I also have a stammer and I feel like this has been holding me back in my studies, hence why I 'll will be sitting foundation maths this summer :( But I can put some serious graft in when I need to, not saying medicine would be a doddle for me but I would make a good doctor? Has anyone on here gone to medicine off of DARE (or hear, I think I qualify for that too) and if so could you relate your experience to me?

Best advice I can give you is to go talk to current students in Medicine. And ask loads of questions, the usual questions and all the stupid ones. And be sure to look up DARE with Medicine i.e. Ask UCD or where you wish to apply. It may be different given the magnitude of the course. Medicine is a studious course. Its not for the faint hearted. But if you feel you have the ability and are willing to apply yourself, go for it. Honestly.

This is the problem. Its not that people haven't got in on DARE but Foundation maths doesn't meet the entry requirements.
