Roof - I meant Roof - Cant seem to edit title

I am building a shed against my gable wall.

Plan is to butt the roof of the lean-to against the gable wall.

Gable wall is 20 ft high and lean to roof is at about 7 foot. Will water run down the gable wall and between the roof and the gable wall?

Its only a shed structure so don't want to cut into the wall and put led flashing or anything fancy, should I worry about the water or is there a technique to stop water going between the gable and shed roof.

    Thanks

    Hi tidyweb
If you don't flash the wall, the water will pour down wall when it rains. You would be better to use a flashing. Give a bit of thought too as how you are going to get at gable for painting etc when lean to is built ?????

If you cut the top of your sheeting at the same angle(pitch) as the roof it will sit neatly against the wall. Then run a bead if tec7 or similar where sheet meets gable, that will seal it for you.Not a long term solution but would do the trick.

Do you know of any easy to fit flashing, dont want to start messing with lead for a shed.

Can't recommend anything myself, but it might help others if you told us what kind of finish is on the wall, e.g stone, brick, smooth render, wet/dry dash?

Did that on a structure and it is still holding up 7 yrs later. Was meticulous about applying it though.
OP what is the wall surface, pebbledash or smooth? Pebbledash might eliminate Flashband.

Not sure what you would call it. Its a rough plaster not pebble dash

I presume you mean a napped finish ? I am wondering the same thing but mine is pebble dash. Figured I would cut a slot with diamond bit of angle grinder, kango off the plaster below then use a little bit of flashing and silicone ?

I have seen it done on pebble dash with torch on felt. I'd imagine it would be a nightmare to remove though.
