Help please! My little girl is 4 and a half and is still pooing in her pants. It took us over a year to potty train her but she one day decided that she would not pee in her pants and has been great ever since. She has very few wet accidents and never wets the bed but Will Not Poo in the potty/toilet.
We are at our wits end here and would be very greatfull for any advice that might help her.
    Thanks.

Would you talk to your GP? Clinical Psychologists working with children deal with this all the time. Might be worth getting a referral?

Still going through this with the 5 yr old. He sometimes uses the toilet or potty but rarely. Gps & Phns all just say the same thing. He'll grow out of it.

Have tried rewards, treats, charts, stories etc but nothing that works for us unfortunately. Our lad like your daughter will not wet himself and has never wet the bed. But just will not use toilet for poos. Still haven't given up on charts n stuff but while he's excited to get a star, his first instinct is to sit down and poo. Doctors are not interested as he is pooing so are unwilling to anything, just repeat that he will grow out of it.

Sorry to hear that you are going through the same as us. As with you the doctors have not been great.
We did have a bit of a breakthrough the last few days, she has started to do some but not all of her poos on the toilet! We nearly cried!
We decided that we would stop asking her and kind of just gave up and she decided herself that she would do it. I think that she will not do it no matter how hard we try unless she thinks it is her own idea.

Good luck with your little boy.

Best of luck. It can be worrying but I'm sure one day he'll waltz in and just start doing it on the toilet. Best of luck to you and yours!
