So in the attached pic there is a pic of my mondeo engine, the car went into limp mode today and turning engine off and on it didn't go away!! so brought it to garage and they said it was this part of the turbo that was faulty. My problem is that I can't replace this part by itself???? Or can I???? Just wondering what this part is called and if it is possible to replace without replacing the turbo.

Was quated 2k for replacing the turbo, any ways to bring this price down, maybe reconditioned turbo etc and whats the best price I can expect for the job.

    Thanks

that is the electronic turbo actuator and is known to give trouble and can be easily replaced without removing the turbo itself but ford don't sell it seperately so 2nd hand could be an option.
