China visa checklist

We got a bit of a last minute invite to China, and we're planning on flying out in 3 weeks time. The closest time we can get to the embassy is the 3rd October (gf is away this week with her passport and the embassy closes for the 30th, 1st, 2nd).

In the last few weeks/month the chinese embassy website looks like its been updated for the worse. Very hard to find some info, and ive had to go trawling their old site to get some more info. eg. The new site doesnt mention a bank draft.
Our checklist of the embassy is:
    Passports
Visa forms typed out and signed
    Flight information
    Passport photos
    Bank draft, I assume

Do we need a copy of our accommodation receipt, or is it enough to have it filled out on the visa itself?
Is the bank draft as mentioned here (bottom)

Anything else im missing? Just being thorough since if we screw up the 3rd Oct, it'll be cutting things tight.

Best include as much accommodation information as you can, as mine was chucked back at me before for this offence.

I don't think they are open on a Friday either.

You can also get a courier to drop the documents in for you and collect them, saves you a trip up.

Bank draft made out to China Embassy Ireland I think and I think its one draft per application too!

Im in Dublin myself, its my girlfriend thats away on holiday atm and wont be back until the weekend, at which point its a holiday in China so the embassy is closed until Thursday. As mentioned here.

Our accommodation is all in chinese, so im wondering would they question how we booked it (it was booked for us by someone in China, and we'll be on a tourist visa).

i think you may also need certs for your qualifications and proof of previous employment with your last two employers if it is a business visa. You can go in on a Entry Visa for 30 days but will need to leave the country before you can apply for another Visa or so i have been told before.

You can pay by bank draft or postal order. Bank draft must be from BOI or AIB.

If you have the confirmation of accommodation submit it. (Make copies, you won't get it back).
