Hi there, my car just failed it NCT Peugeot 206 01 and I just got word from the mechanic that the repairs will cost e800, new cat convertor, brakes etc. My question is should I bite the bullet and scrap it and buy a new car in the 1-1.5k region instead of pumping that amount of cash into an old car like that? cheers

sometimes better the devil ya know then the devil you dont

Only you know if the few hundred quid is too expensive or not. You never get back what you spend in repair and maintenance anyway.

Personally I would sell it and see what's out there for around 2k

Have a look around, see what is available before making any decisions

    Why.
You'll rarely get more of a scrappy than what someone will offer on done deal.
