I lost the key to my 2005 passat, luckily I have a spare.

Where is the best place to get a new key and fob?

What kind of money would I expect to pay, should it be programmed etc?

    Cheers.

you could try a vw dealer for an initial price. then try the likes of auto key who will probably be cheaper. I got a spare key at autokey a few months ago and found them good.

Otherwise you can just ring around to local locksmiths and compare prices just make sure you quote like with like. i.e. some may quote you for a key without central locking etc.

If it's the B6 passat you have to go to main dealer. I got a new one two weeks ago. It cost €250.
