    Didnt the speccy version have preview pictures publsihed in crash that were NOTHING like the finished product?
    (Always preffered the C64 port myself , but the amstrad remake is excellent)

    Although the Speccy version was well received ? I had the C64 version and remember that the multiload was not too clever. Much better shooters on the C64 than that.

    I always liked the c64 port.Mind you he does mention the fact that the original coded c64 version was ditched 2 months before it was to be published and the job given to manfred trenz (who'd worked on katakis ..which is REALLY similar to R-type if you catch my drift;:)).According to Pape , the original c64 port was better?(must see if I can find a disk image on the net of what was done.
