I'd put money on that advert being some sort of scam. Decent 2007 Mondeos as cheap as they are, are not that cheap.

    What're you coming from?
As mid size saloons go it's hard to beat a mondeo.

Dont you think that in both cases those cars are clocked? 55k and 59k mls, as if owners were scared of those magic threshold 60k :-)
It is not real and in todays world dealers and scumbags pretending to sell privately for "emigrated to Australia friend" will do just anything to make money.
Where do u think those cars are coming from? Do u know any traffic lights without "cash for cars" sign?

Re Mondeo, great cars just dont be fooled by scumbags - buy privately. Less chance to get into problems with ur purchase.

Thanks everyone. I'm coming from a 99 Mazda 323 which was written off a few months ago.

After doing a bit or research, I found some negative reviews of the garage that was selling the Mondeo so I'm not going to follow it up. But a Mondeo does sound like a decent possibility so I'll have a look around to find a decent one.

If you had a Mazda 323 then you should look at the Mazda 6 1.8 petrol also. Very reliable, just watch out for rust on them.

Aunt bought a mondeo and never looked back on it. Its a diesel mondeo and runs on the smell of diesel. She never had any hassle with it in the few years she has it and drives very well.

What are 2006 Mondeo's like to drive and run? Specifically thinking of something along the lines of this 1.8 litre petrol:

    Good or bad option?

What's your budget for mondeo roughly

    4-5k

I looked at a Mazda 6 a little while ago but I just didn't feel comfortable driving it. I'm quite tall and the seat just seemed to be shaped wrong for me.

Yeah the mondeo is good for anyone on the tall side, I'm 6-3" and have buckets of space in mondeo, very comfortable. Just asked as I am selling one but would be outside that price unfortunately. I have 2.0 diesel and they are nice car to drive, very comfortable and no complaints, only getting rid as unnecessary for me at this moment in time but I would def buy again if/when looking for a car of that size.

How about a Honda Civic saloon:

140bhp and very frugal for 1.8 litre.
