G' wan, educate me on what I should get.

I have a feeling that I probably shouldn't just throw these nice beers I'm experimenting with into any old pint glass

I like the Duvel glass for almost any beer. It's great for capturing aroma. Alternatively a large wine glass: cheaply acquired and does the same job.

Can Duvel glasses be bought in Ireland?

Yup. Bought one in hollands in bray. Also seen them in the blackrock cellar in blackrock.

I'd also seconded the duvel glass. It's wonderfully open and allows you to get your nose in deep.

I've also got a Sam Adams half pint glass which has the same effect.

Also a teku glass is nice for the more sipping kinds of beers.

I acquired one recently and just can't get my face round it. I find the angles make it uncomfortable to drink from. Looks nice, though.

I used a Delerium Tremens glass for most.

I also acquired one recently and really like it, in particular the lip on the rim (which in fairness is also on the Duvel glass). Not sure I'm a fan of the angularity of the bowl part of the glass as it's not great for releasing your inner beer geek when swishing.....looks cool though (the glass, not the beer geekery!)

I like the Ikea beer glasses, 1.50 a pop if you are over that direction. Nice and heavy.

i've found most pubs if you ask nicely will give you the glass.

usually if i really really like the glass i'll offer to buy it off the barman, it goes either one of three ways.

    1. no
    2. ah sure have it.
    3. let me ask the boss... *some time later* ...sure give us X euro and it's yours.

but as BeerNut was suggesting, wine glasses can be bought in IKEA (anyways) for next to nothing.

This is my "go to" Glass unless I'm having a Wheat Beer.

The one I have is only slightly different in that the lower part is smooth unlike the image below. I like it for most non wheat beer product because of the lasered bottom and/or nucleation zone.

Is there anywhere that sells tulip glasses in Dublin City? Anywhere I've gone (mainly department stores to be honest) seems to have pint, tumbler, wine, hi-ball, etc but no tulips. I'm not looking for anything branded, just a straight up beer tulip glass.

    Cheers in advance.

Depending on your definition of "city", there's this in Ikea.

Unbranded ones are hard to find but a few coins in a bartender's tip jar will be enough to get you a nice glass in any of the craft pubs (without resorting to thieving).

I also picked up a few in Molloys off licence in Clonsilla for "free" when you buy 4 world/craft beers. They had no tulip type left at the moment but keep an eye out for it in future also.

Just go buy yourself a great mug, mixing really what matters that can be done through and into the bottle, a great mug will satisfy your thirst though for a beer. :D
