Springboard Course - Receiving JSA

Ok so my question? I am on JSA, I am starting a Springboard Course on Tuesday. I filled in both the relavent forms for the DSP - the PTO and the BTEA forms. Grand. I put down that I'd like to get my payment into the Bank instead of the PO as it'l be easier to collect whilst on the course. My question is this (and no I haven't asked in my local DSP office cos they don't seem to know their arse from their elbow at times). Will my payment still be a Tuesday payment (I.E. Will it still be a JSA payment) and therefore be in the bank on Tuesdays, or will it transfer to a Thursday payment (I.E. a BTEA payment) and be in the bank on Thursdays.

If anyone has any ideas on this I'd appreciate the heads up. Thanks.

If they have transferred it to bank payment then it will be in your bank account on Thursdays.

I'm starting a springboard course on Tuesday as well. Nothing has changed for my JSA payment. I didnt have to fill out any forms and I still have to pick my payment up from my PO and sign on as normal. Course is part time though.

My course is part time. I had to fill out the PTO form (and then they told me to fill out the BTEA form). On the BTEA one it mentions bank ac, so I filled it in, and my local DSP officer said I could get it into my bank ac, which is obvs handier from a get money, put it in bank to pay bills perspective.

Dratville on the Thursdays though, Gonna struggle like shiz next week if it takes til the Thurs to come thru (bills don't wait for no man unfortch :() but thanks Eastbono for the headsup, dead handy you round these parts :)

How is that? Like how did yez manage to still stay on the Jobseeker's Payment rather than being moved over to an Education Payment?! I'm surprised at that actually that they weren't pure eager to get ya off the Live Register and reduce the Unemployed's statistics even by one lol...... Highly convenient though that there won't be any wait involved after your Course is completed to obtain a Jobseeker's Payment again. Best of luck with yere Courses. :)

I was told by my social welfare that since the course im doing is part time, online and is free that i dont need to change my JSA as im still available to work. but they expect me to stop the course if i get a job.

same here, done a part time (2days a week course) and stayed on JSA all the time, had to go to PO every week

Just to clarify.... when you are on BTEA or PTEO (part-time education option) you are still in receipt of JSA but the category is changed to BTEA or PTEO.... there are numerous different categories within JSA e.g springboard, casual, internship, etc etc.

Ah ok. My money was in the PO again today :/ have no idea when or if they are actually gonna switch it. thinking I might just ask them to leave it be for now as it is handy enough this semester to get my money from the PO then fill the car to get to college for the days I am in
