[Sep 29] UCD Autumn Air Open 2013

UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold the UCD Autumn Air Open 2013, on Sunday 29th September at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be awarded (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Please note that this competition will be under the new ISSF timings (ISSF Rules and Regulations 2013 Edition Section 7.9).

15 minute combined sighting and preparation time.

Followed by:
50 minutes match time (40 shot competition)
or
75 minutes match time (60 shot competition)

No sighting shots can be taken during match time.

A big thank you to all of the shooters who took part in the UCD Autumn Air Open on the 29th September 2013 in the UCD Rifle Club Range.

Firstly in our Air Pistol competition Wilkinstown’s Tomas Jakubauskas took first place on a score of 542 followed by our very own UCD shooter Monica Flanagan with a score of 495.

The 60 shot Air Rifle competition was a high scoring and very close affair, with only two points separating the top three shooters. Both Sean Baldwin of the Defence Forces shooting team and John Lancaster of UCDRC battled it out for first place with both finishing with a score of 570, but with Sean taking first place on inner 10's. Terry Wearen also of the Defence Forces came just behind in third position on a score of 568. While in the 40 shot competition DURC’s Ciara Deevy came in first position with a score of 361 with Claire Layden of UCDRC came in second position with a score of 356.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and we hope to see you at our next competition, UCD Air Open I on Thursday 17th and Sunday 20th October 2013.
