Anyone remember this metal parody group who were around in the mid to late 80's and were very much inspired by The Tap.I think they might have been British.Anyone know what they were called?

That's them,I couldn't think of what they were called.Did they predate Spinal Tap?I think the latter movie came out in 1984.

Spinal Tap was filmed in 1982 but they first appeared in 1979 on US tv.
