Why the sudden change with my Dad?

Last weekend he was furious with me when I told him I wanted to transition. He was like "I've always known you are gay and thats ok but you are a ****ing boy. you've got a ****".

This weekend (he works away from home in the week) he's calling me his daughter, given me a gift certificate for a new wardrobe and he's offering to take me to get my ears pierced.

    Why the sudden change?

I think perhaps only he can explain

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

That may have been just an initial reaction as he could have been shocked by you wanting to transition. And now he has had time to think about it he is coming to terms with it?

That's just a suggestion but I agree with mango salsa that only really he can answer that.
